Sew Better.

A Way We Sew develops and teaches sewing techniques that improve your sewing whether you are new to sewing or an advanced seamstress. We show how to sew faster, and better, and have more fun.

A Way We Sew teaches sewing differently.

We take the fight out of learning new sewing techniques so you can spend more time doing what you love - sewing! Follow us for unusual and unconventional ways to sew faster, with fabulous results, all while having fun.

Sew "rogue" with A Way We Sew!

We don't always use a pattern, rarely follow the instructions, tend to sew first and cut later, alter seam allowances, use templates (but not the way you might think!), change the order of sewing, and barely use pins. Come learn with us and let's get sewing!

Leah Boyan, Chief Sewing Officer

I started my company, A Way We Sew, to help fellow sewists sew more and stress less by teaching and sharing fast, fun and unconventional sewing techniques.

I've taught sewing online to hundreds of students across the country for the American Sewing Guild National Conference, Sewing and Stitchery Expo and the Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network. Locally at my favorite fabric shop, Esther's Fabrics on Bainbridge Island, and my other favorite fabric shop, District Fabrics in Port Townsend, WA.

I offer sewing classes on Skillshare and am currently teaching a variety of intro to sewing classes through Wool Friends, a local to Seattle fiber studio. Join us and let's get sewing!
