TOOLS
Freezer Paper
The best pattern paper. Iron on a wool setting and it sticks to fabric. Reusable, durable, and transparent enough for tracing.
Tracing Wheel
Spokes aren't too sharp and it works well to trace a temporary line on fabric or paper.
Wavy Rotary Blade
Use in place of pinking shears, quickly trim outside edges of circles.

About the Event
Links to past even recordings and future event registration:
- Previous Event recording: New, streamlined, and more ORGANIZED video is up coving all the topics in the live event (but better!). It's only 15 minutes long. The video covers: supplies, how (and why) to prepare your collar, band and cuff patterns for our methods, and more. There is a separate video showing how (and when) to match prints along center front. PASSWORD: EsthersShirt
- Thread Theory folks! We have a video just for you! See link above
- AND FINALLY! We have a pdf outlining all the steps for building a shirt the A Way We Sew Way. Get me my PDF on all the Shirt Making Steps!
Session 2: We'll demo how to match a plaid on the bias (to create that 'chevron' look) and how to 'burrito' the yoke to easily sew the yoke to the back and front pieces. We'll also review the "chunk it up" sewing order of operations. But most importantly, this week's session is all about your questions. To get the most of the online Zoom meeting, it's helpful to have good lighting in front of your work. If you need help with a detail, I'll need to see it "close up", so practice a bit with your lighting and computer camera or phone camera. Also, we recommend updating your Zoom software or app to get the latest features (pin, polling, etc). This week's prize: Leah's favorite thread snips! Register below for Session 2.
Upcoming Event: Sunday, November 15th, 1pm-2:30pm: Wrap up, sharing or shirts. DEMO: How to do a flat fell side seams and rolled hem. And PRIZES!
